How the Supply Network works

EduTalent Connect runs an ongoing Supply Network for schools across the county. Schools contact us about their cover needs — often at short notice — and we look for people already registered.

Work can range from an early-morning call when a school needs someone quickly, to pre-arranged daily cover and short-term assignments. The more flexible and available you are, the more opportunities may come your way, and we manage the paperwork so you can focus on the work.

  1. Create or update your candidate profile.
  2. Upload your CV and relevant documents.
  3. Tell us your availability and travel area.
  4. Complete the checks required for suitable assignments.

Frequently asked questions

Which towns are covered by the East Sussex Supply Network?

The East Sussex network covers Brighton & Hove, Eastbourne, Hastings and Lewes. Schools and settings across these areas register with the network as they need cover.

Why is Sussex split into East and West?

Our network data is organised by the two modern county areas of East Sussex and West Sussex, each with its own Supply Network. The two areas work in the same way, and your registration and availability determine which assignments you are considered for.

Does the network cover the villages around Lewes or Eastbourne?

Yes. The network is organised around your availability and travel area, so candidates based in the supported towns or the surrounding villages can be kept in consideration for assignments that suit their travel.

What types of school cover does the network provide in East Sussex?

The network covers emergency, daily and short-term assignments across primary, secondary, SEND, early years and school-office roles, as well as teaching assistants and cover supervisors. Registration is ongoing and does not guarantee work at any particular school.

Is joining the Supply Network a guarantee of work?

No. The Supply Network is an ongoing registration opportunity. Registering does not create a contract of employment and does not guarantee that work will be offered, or that a specific vacancy exists at any school. We contact you when suitable opportunities arise based on your availability and preferences.

What vetting and safeguarding checks are involved?

Every candidate is interviewed, identity-checked and reference-checked before joining. Where required for the role, we also support you through the relevant vetting and safeguarding checks, and we work with schools to make sure their expectations are clear from the start.

Which roles can I register for?

The network covers supply teachers (primary and secondary), SEND teachers and support staff, teaching assistants, cover supervisors, nursery and early years practitioners, school administrators and exam invigilators.

What does emergency, daily and short-term supply mean?

Emergency cover is a school’s same-day or early-morning need for someone to step in quickly. Daily cover is usually a pre-arranged day of teaching or support, and short-term assignments run for a defined period such as a week, a term or a planned absence.
